Memorising the Quran is one of the most meaningful things a Muslim can do — and one of the hardest to do alone. The problem is rarely a lack of desire. It’s the missing structure: a clear daily plan, someone qualified to hear your recitation, and a revision system that actually keeps what you’ve memorised from slipping away.

Our Quran memorization course gives you all three. You work one-to-one with a Hafiz tutor, follow a classical daily structure that has produced Huffaz for centuries, and get a realistic plan built around your life — whether you’re memorising Juz Amma with your children or working toward the complete Quran.

What makes this course different

Most people who start Hifz don’t quit because they can’t memorise. They quit because they lose what they memorised, get discouraged, and give up.
This course is designed around that exact problem.

Every lesson follows a three-part daily structure used in traditional Hifz institutions across the Muslim world:

  • Sabaq — new memorisation for today’s lesson.
  • Sabqi — revision of the recent verses you’ve memorised in the past few days or weeks.
  • Manzil — long-term review of a full Juz or more from what you’ve already committed to memory.

This isn’t a modern shortcut. It’s the same disciplined system that has produced generations of Huffaz — and it works because it protects what you’ve already earned while you keep moving forward.

Who this course is for

  • Adults who want to become Hafiz or memorise selected parts of the Quran.
  • Children ready to begin Hifz with a patient, structured tutor.
  • Parents who want to memorise alongside their children.
  • Reverts to Islam beginning their memorisation journey for the first time.
  • Students who’ve started Hifz before, fallen off, and want to restart with a proper system.
  • Learners who’ve memorised parts of the Quran and need help retaining what they know.

The one prerequisite is basic Quran reading ability. If you can’t yet read Arabic, our Learn to Read Quran course is the right starting point — many students take both in parallel.

Choose the Hifz path that fits your goal

Hifz is not one journey. Different students have different goals, and the course adapts to yours from the first lesson.

  • Juz Amma programme — memorise the 30th Juz, the short surahs used most in daily prayer. This is where most beginners and children start.
  • Selected surahs programme — focus on specific surahs meaningful to you, like Al-Baqarah, Yaseen, Al-Kahf, Al-Mulk, or others.
  • Complete Hifz programme — memorise the entire Quran with a long-term structured plan.
  • Revision programme — for those who have already memorised parts of the Quran and want to solidify and retain them.

Your tutor helps you choose the right path in your first sessions, then builds the daily plan around it.

How our online Hifz classes work

Every session is live and one-to-one over a simple video call. Group classes cannot correct individual pronunciation mistakes or catch memorisation errors as they form — which is why serious Hifz has always been taught one teacher to one student.

Your tutor listens as you recite your new lesson, corrects Tajweed in real time, tests your recent revision, and hears a portion of your long-term review. You leave every class with a specific plan for what to memorise and what to revise before the next session.

Progress is tracked page by page, so you always know exactly where you stand. Male and female tutors are available, and sisters looking for a female-only classroom experience can be matched with a qualified female Hafizah throughout the course.

Why students choose Quran Lights for Hifz

Classical methodology, taught properly

We follow the same Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil system used in traditional Hifz schools — because it works. Every session includes new memorisation, recent revision, and long-term review, so what you memorise actually stays memorised.

Qualified Hafiz and Hafizah tutors

Your tutor has memorised the Quran themselves. That matters. They understand the struggle from the inside — the days you can’t focus, the surahs that feel harder than others, the discouragement of forgetting — because they’ve been through it.

Honest, realistic pacing

We won’t promise you the full Quran in six months. Hifz that lasts is built page by page over consistent months and years. Your plan is built around what you can actually sustain, not an unrealistic sales pitch.

Choose a male or female tutor

Male and female tutors are available across all levels. Sisters can request a female Hafizah for a fully female-led programme.

Flexible schedule for real life

Work, school, family — life doesn’t pause for Hifz. Class times fit around your day, and your plan can be recalibrated when life gets in the way, so you never feel forced to quit just because a week went sideways.

A clear path to Ijazah

For students working toward formal Ijazah in Hifz, this course prepares you for that final step. Your tutor will let you know when you’re ready to pursue certification with a certified Sheikh.

Start with a free trial class

The first step is the smallest one. Book a free trial class, meet your tutor, and let them assess where you are and where you want to go. You’ll leave the trial with a clear picture of your starting point and a realistic plan — no pressure, no commitment.

Parents’ Common Questions

Questions Before Enrollment

How long does it take to memorise the full Quran?

It depends entirely on your pace, age, life schedule, and how consistent your daily practice is. Some students complete full Hifz in 2 to 3 years with intensive daily sessions. Others take 5 to 7 years while balancing work and family. We don't promise a fixed timeline because honest Hifz can't be forced. What we do promise is a realistic plan built around your actual life, with a pace you can sustain until the end.

Do I need to know how to read Quran before starting Hifz?

Yes. Basic Quran reading is the one prerequisite, because you need to be able to read a verse fluently before you can memorise it correctly. If you can't yet read Arabic, our Learn to Read Quran course is the right starting point. Many students take both in parallel — reading in one lesson, memorisation in the next.

I've tried memorising before and kept forgetting. Can this course really help with retention?

This is the exact problem the course is built to solve. Every session includes Sabqi (recent revision) and Manzil (long-term review) alongside new memorisation, so you never move forward while losing what's behind you. Most students who've struggled with retention before find that a proper daily revision structure is the missing piece — not more motivation.

Can my child start Hifz, and at what age?

Yes. Most children are ready to begin Hifz between the ages of five and eight, once they can read the Arabic text and sit for a full lesson. The classical age of six is common, but every child is different. Your tutor will assess readiness in the first free trial and build a gentle plan that suits your child's attention span and pace.

Can I choose to memorise only certain surahs instead of the full Quran?

Absolutely. Many of our students focus on Juz Amma, or on specific surahs like Al-Baqarah, Yaseen, Al-Kahf, and Al-Mulk. You choose your goal, and your tutor builds the plan around it. There's no pressure to commit to full Hifz unless that's what you want.

How many classes per week do I need for real progress in Hifz?

Hifz needs daily contact with the Quran to stick. Most serious students take four to five classes a week, with short daily revision on their own between lessons. Fewer sessions can still work for lighter goals like Juz Amma, but for full Hifz, consistency is more important than any other factor.

Are female tutors available for sisters?

Yes. You can request a qualified female Hafizah at booking, and your entire Hifz journey — from your first surah to Ijazah preparation — will be taught by a female instructor.

What happens if I fall off the programme for a week or two?

It happens to almost every Hifz student, and it's not the end. When you return, your tutor recalibrates the plan around what you can realistically manage now, prioritises revision to recover what may have slipped, and gets you back on track without shame or pressure. The goal is a lifetime relationship with the Quran, not a rigid schedule.
