Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Life from Birth to Death

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the final messenger of Allah (SWT), was born in Makkah, Arabia, in the year 570 CE, a year known as the Year of the Elephant. His life is a timeless example of guidance, mercy, and leadership.


Early Life

  • Born into the Quraysh tribe, he was orphaned early; his father passed away before his birth, and his mother, Amina, died when he was six.
  • He was raised by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, and later by his uncle Abu Talib.
  • Even as a child, Muhammad (PBUH) was known for his honesty and integrity, earning the title Al-Amin (the Trustworthy).

Youth and Marriage

  • As a young man, he worked as a shepherd and later as a merchant, gaining a reputation for fairness and trustworthiness.
  • At the age of 25, he married Khadijah (RA), a wealthy and respected businesswoman, who became his lifelong companion and greatest supporter.

Prophethood

  • At the age of 40, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the first revelation from Allah (SWT) through Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) in the cave of Hira.
  • He began preaching Tawheed (the oneness of Allah) and guiding people toward righteousness, facing challenges and opposition from the Quraysh leaders.

Migration to Madinah (Hijrah)

  • In 622 CE, due to persecution in Makkah, he migrated to Madinah, marking the start of the Islamic calendar.
  • In Madinah, he established a unified Muslim community and became both a spiritual and political leader.

Later Life and Death

  • Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) continued to spread Islam, teaching mercy, justice, and compassion.
  • He performed the Farewell Pilgrimage, delivering the famous Farewell Sermon, emphasizing equality, brotherhood, and devotion to Allah.
  • He passed away in 632 CE in Madinah, leaving a legacy that transformed the world and continues to guide billions.

Legacy

  • The Quran and his Sunnah (traditions) remain the ultimate sources of guidance for Muslims.
